Just some quick critter-sketches! Trying to design more bipedal races. The feather-y ones are the upper-class variant, whilst the balded ones are the slaves/servants etc. Their neck and arms are bound to prevent the growth of feathers.
Not too sure about the overall design! There’s some things I want to change.

Pretty neat!! I love how many Birdpeople drawings are out there. Love the crazy leg joints on these guys… I think Rune probably does that sometimes just to freak people out.
Thanks for the plug as usual, Sal :)

Day 10: Describe the world of the story (use photos or graphics if you want)
Now the story of a wealthy nation that lost everything, and the one detective who had no choice but to keep it all together.
Berlin at the time was a crazed drunken carnival of vice and murder and also the cutting edge of artistic innovation, and of course there was a lot of really turbulent and deeply disturbing social upheaval going on. Contrasted with this hyper-modern chaos is turbulence of a different sort, ancient beyond reckoning. So there’s a lot of contrast flying around, and that’s kind of what the story is about, really, the contention of opposing forces and what happens when we try to stay out of it, how we try to maintain our sense of self when everything is falling apart. So there’s the historical backdrop and the fantastical backdrop. Both are heavily researched.
Here are is a nice mix of photographs, paintings and our own illustrations to give you a visual idea:
