A Supernatural Noir and
Online Penny Dreadful
by Allison & Emily
Updates Sundays.
IT IS A STORY ABOUT A CAT marvel at our narrative ingenuity
Hey we are actually updating at Sunday midnight, let’s celebrate!! Hold your breath it may just happen no promises
This week’s gorgeous illustration was a collab between Allison and our friend fan and neighbor from across the street, who rendered Herr Inspektor’s kitty in a beautiful pen and paper sketch, which was then superimposed on Allison’s digitally painted background. MULTI-MEDIAAAA. This illustration was also completed tonight, while we all half-watched The Hobbit, in about an hour total. Whereas FUN FACT the story itself was written probably more than an actual year ago, at the prompt of our previously mentioned friend, when Emily was having writer’s block. “Write something about Ibsen!” “Uhhh okay!” AND HEY it ended up having ~vague plot significance~ because that’s how Emily rolls.
That is a lot to say about such a short piece. This post may be almost as long as the story itself. WHOOPS.
NEXT WEEK: Back to the story, the incredibly impractical adventures of Herr Inspektor and Doctorow traipsing dirty and frustrated through the huge gigantic forest.
IT’S FINALLY HERE. Again, a thousand apologies for the lateness, we shall try to do better but it’s a constant process and life is an adventure, etc.
In this chapter Herr Inspektor has two important confrontations, one laced with horrible emotional abuse, one with hilarious verbal abuse. Mixin it up.
NEXT WEEK: An interlude from the perspective of the cat. Because we’re the goddamn authors and we felt like it, that’s why.
Speaks for itself.
NEXT WEEK: Herr Inspektor embarks on the last leg of his journey for Part Two.
Some stuff about Ireneo.
NEXT WEEK: A letter.
WELP. Time to get confirmation on a few things, and also open up some new questions. Can your heart take it
NEXT WEEK: We’ll break for an interlude about a certain someone.
Everyone recovers from the events of the previous chapter. Accounts are given, hands are played close to the chest, and orders are willfully disobeyed… again.
There will also be a certain visitation and some long-desired information learned. So you have that to look forward to.
Read on, or start from the beginning.
NEXT WEEK: Oh my god
BOOM it’s here finally sorry for the wait it’s very exciting BUT BEFORE YOU START READING…
here’s a little interactive project for you all
At some point early in the chapter there will be a mention of music. If you so desire, when that point comes, open this in a separate tab and enjoy your in-story soundtrack.
OKAY GO FORTH
NEXT WEEK: The fallout.
Hello, folks.
…
Yes, we’re late again. The reason is there are approximately eighty billion (sixteen) illustrations for this action-packed chapter and Allison’s still finishing up the last one. It’ll be up soon. The wait will have been worth it.
In the meanwhile, since I have not much to do other than make tiny nitpicky suggestions, I made up this promo shot to give you an idea of how much crazy shit is about to go down, or at the very least how hard Allison has been working. Spread it around if you like.
Other than that stay tuned.
Oh my gosh, late AGAIN. We’re so bad, you guys. It’s a combination of still getting used to being off hiatus and also being old ladies who now fall asleep before midnight constantly, so. SORRY.
Anyway this chapter marks the beginning of a pretty exciting time so enjoy.
NEXT WEEK: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey folks, we are a little bit late with this update and it’s literally because we forgot, whoops. We were on hiatus for a long time, yo! But anyway, it’s a low-maintenance update so that’s something. In the stretch of time between Chapters 38 and 39, Herr Inspektor writes, somewhat inevitably, another letter to the mysterious and elusive Peter. Short update, no illustration, full of sads.
NEXT WEEK: Back to the story at hand - and, as earlier erroneously referenced, “sex, lies, and the incredible power of denial.”
